A big topic in recent months has been patient transports, which require specialized care in terms of transporting patients on ECMO and other devices. This transport is very challenging both in terms of technical preparedness and coordination of the transport.
During transport like this, two teams meet: the rescue team and the hospital team.
We had a chance to try this type of transport during the week when we transported a patient on ECMO device together with the ECMO team from FN Motol to IKEM for the so-called intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation.
