In the “Urgent Care Patient Transport” mode, we transport not only “ordinary” patients. We also transport paediatric patients, newborns in a transport incubator and bariatric patients on a daily basis.

On 16.3.2023 we moved a little bit further. We transported a patient connected to Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation is a method that is used to exchange gases outside the body in a controlled manner for a necessary period of time, when the lungs cannot perform this function. This gas exchange is meant to oxygenate the blood and remove CO2.

We would like to thank the team from the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Nemocnice na Homolce and the doctors from IKEM, where the patient was referred.
